 Closed Captions

Turn on closed captions during video playback to display on-screen text for the dialog in movies and TV shows. Closed Captions are also known as Subtitles.

Prime Video titles with closed captions typically feature a "CC" symbol in the video details.

Most videos with closed captions include English text, but other languages are often available. To view the available languages, open the video details for a movie or TV show and look for the Subtitles section.

There are two ways to turn on closed captions: while watching Prime Video movie or show, or using the device accessibility setting.

While watching Prime Video movie or show:

  1. Start video playback.
  2. Press the  Menu Menu Button Button button on your Fire TV remote to open additional playback options.

  3. Once you've made your selections, select Close to return to playback, and start watching the video with subtitles.
